Design duo Storm Thorgerson Aubrey Powell better known by their collective name Hipgnosis are renowned in the music world for creating iconic cover art for rock and roll greats. From Pink Floyd to Paul McCartney, Hipgnosis have been behind some of the most well known and well loved album artworks, shaping the aesthetic of the music industry since the late 1960s. This new series of limited editions brings the images back to life as archival inkjet prints, each one in beautiful, never before seen, clarity. ‘Knebworth Led Zeppelin’ features the original poster photography for Led Zeppelin’s last ever live UK performance at Knebworth House in 1979. Thorgerson and Powell have lifted the band photograph and pasted a mash up of other Led Zeppelin artworks over the top album artwork from ‘In Through The Out Door’, label artwork from Swan Song, and a unique watermark crafted from song lyrics.
